Veronika
Position: International Recruiter
Current Location: Czech Republic
I was born in the Czech Republic, but I grew up in Belgium. Eventually, for love, I permanently moved to the Czech Republic in 2015. I love nature here and I also feel very safe in this country. People often come together, are friendly and let’s not forget that it’s very cheap to live here!
My favorite destination is Barcelona! I visited it and immediately felt at home. It doesn’t feel like a big city and I like that people go out after work to eat tapas for example, which by the way are perfect if you want to discover new dishes.
My tip is to enjoy yourself above all else. You will make memories and friendships that will stay with you for the rest of your life. With an open mindset, immerse yourself in a new environment and culture.
Kimberley
Position: International Recruiter
Current Location: South Africa
I first came to South Africa 10 years ago for an exchange program. Back then I was located in the Eastern Cape but had the chance to travel all over the country and fell in love with the nation. Once I graduated, I found a job here, then met my husband and 7 years later I am still in Cape Town.
One of my favorite destinations that we offer is Greece. I love the people, the food and way of life there. Athens itself is such a buzzing city, with many cute little cafes but also has such stunning architecture and a beautiful history to it. Definitely worth visiting or better yet, moving too!
Life can be scary no matter where you are living. So my tip is to take the chance and move abroad! Experience a new culture, meet new people, try new dishes! You will not only gain many new experiences but also grow as a person! It is an opportunity that I feel everyone should grasp with both hands!
Romy
Position: International Recruiter
Current Location: Hungary
My name is Romy👋, a Dutchie who has been living abroad since the age of 18. Hungary became my home where I really enjoyed living, studying and working for 9 years until love brought me overseas to Cyprus. 🏝️ Living abroad has opened my eyes to a whole new world of possibilities and I wish you the same! 🌍
While scrolling through our destinations I get excited about all the places I still want to explore… 🗺️but if I had to choose my favourite it would be Athens! Last summer I visited Greece for the first time and I absolutely loved it. Greek history, tasty food, chill Mediterranean vibes… Let’s go!
My tip to get the most out of your adventure in a new country? Learn the language! 💬 Just a few basics will already make a difference in your contact with the locals and give you an authentic experience. Study before departure with the help of some online tools and make a great first impression!😃
Roel
Position: International Recruiter
Current Location: South Africa
I met my South African wife while still studying. After 7 years in The Netherlands, travelling to South Africa often we made the move to South Africa in 2011. I love that I live close to two very modern cities in Johannesburg and Pretoria and that I’m very close to nature where we can wind down and relax.
My favorite destination would be Barcelona. I love the hustle and bustle of the city, the vibe you experience and the fact that it has a combination of the historic city center and some ultra modern architecture as well. A big plus is of course that you have access to a beach practically in the city center!
Before permanently moving abroad, visit the place you want to go to multiple times. Engage with locals, learn about the challenges, and understand the reality beyond a holiday. Every place has pros and cons, so be aware and prepared.
Carlijn
Position: Team Lead
Current Location: Italy
I previously lived, traveled and did internships abroad. A few years ago I met my current partner in Puglia (Italy). After 3 years of traveling back and forth, I decided to quit my job and apartment and move here and never looked back!
Hard to choose, but my favorite destination has to be Greece. The country has hundreds of beautiful islands, friendly people, is affordable, good food and it is easy to travel. In addition, the language is fun and there are many more reasons. I visit Greece every year!
Don’t overthink it! Moving abroad can indeed be exciting, I understand that better than anyone. But often a new destination is just a short 2-hour flight away and you can always go home tomorrow. But I bet you don’t really want to go back at all!
Kelly
Position: Team Lead
Current Location: Slovenia
My new country is Slovenia! My partner and I wanted to move since we wanted a place where it is more peaceful and above all GREEN. About 5 years ago we looked into some countries and Slovenia caught our eye, we booked a trip to go and discover. We fell in love instantly and have been living here for 4 years.
I would say Lisbon! I’ve been there recently and it is a very lively city with loads of stuff to do and to visit. It is a place that gives a home to every food, culture or nature lover, Lisbon has got it all. Besides that, it is very multicultural and almost everyone speaks English which is a big plus!
Don’t think too much and just do it! You will never regret it and it will take you on the adventure of a lifetime!
German recruitment team
Julia
Position: International Recruiter
Current Location: Malta
Hi, my name is Julia. While searching for a job opportunity in a warm and sunny country, I ran into Malta. Luckily they speak English as their primary language, so I found a job there. This is my fourth year living in Malta and one of the main reasons I stayed was the warm and sunny weather.
Last year I went to Athens, therefore, I would pick this as my favorite, besides Malta. It has so much history and there are so many great places to see. One of my favorites was the few from Acropolis down to the whole city. Also, the Greek food is just amazing.
Stay motivated and eager to learn new things and meet new people. That’s what this is all about. Dive into the new life and learn more about the traditions of the country, the language and get to know the people. This way you are going to have the best time of your life.
Melody
Position: International Recruiter
Current Location: Spain
I moved to southern Spain 7 years ago, primarily to escape the harsh German winters. However, that wasn’t the only reason that enticed me to Spain. I was captivated by the mindset of the people, the vibrant culture, the close proximity to the beach, and the added bonus of learning a global language.
My top choice is Lisbon. I adore the Iberian Peninsula, the breathtaking climate, and the open-mindedness of the locals. Moreover, its proximity to central Europe makes it an ideal destination for anyone venturing out on their own for the first time, away from family.
Immerse yourself in the local culture from day one. Embrace the language, try traditional cuisines, and connect with locals beyond your work circle. It’s the key to truly experiencing the richness of your new home and creating lifelong memories.
Sophie
Position: International Recruiter
Current Location: Spain
Hey, Sophie here! I have been traveling around the world as a Digital Nomad for the last 5 years. It began when I finished my kite course and decided chase the wind all year long. I’ve been going to places like Cape Town, Portugal, Spain and Morocco to work and kite.
What made me fall in love with Portugal is the undeniable beautiful and raw nature that you can experience there – the cliffs, the ocean, the plants and trees as well as the amazing people. In Morocco I fell for the friendly local people, the amazing cuisine and the stunning surf conditions.
My only advice for you is… TO JUST DO IT! You really only live once and the memories and joy that a working adventure gives you, will change your life and priorities for ever. There is nothing more beautiful than a life lived to the fullest. 🙂
Tamara
Position: Team Lead

I grow up in South Germany During a holiday in Cape Town, I met my partner, and we decided to build our life together here. I love to be close to the ocean and spent as much time as I can on the beach or in the water! In the last 3 years I have been meeting so many new people and found great friends.
There are a lot of incredible places Working Adventures offers. I really liked Prague as its offer so much culture and a great lifestyle. And Greece – it’s just such a beautiful country, and you are right at the ocean with so much yummy food. I have never been to Lisbon, but it’s on top of my list!
My tip, just do it! Experience a life abroad will be an adventure of a lifetime, – you will not regret it.

Nina
Position: International Recruiter
Current Location: Croatia
Hi, my name is Nina and I’m 31 years old. I was born and raised in Germany, but I moved to Croatia to a small, beautiful village near the sea since I love lying on the beach and enjoying the sun or having a nice glass of Wine with a delicious platter of cheese and prosciutto in the vineyards.
The island Crete in Greece is on top of my list. I have never been there before, but I would love to go, it looks amazing! There are breathtaking beaches and some of the most important cultural sites in Europe. Crete is also known for its delicious food.
Do some research (Google, magazines, books) about the country you want to move to. Ask the recruiter as many questions as you like during the interview, we are here for you! Make sure your passport/ID is valid for at least 6 months. Moving abroad is an adventure of a lifetime you will never forget.
Anneva
Position: International Recruiter
Current Location: Cyprus
I am currently living in Italy and it is due to my partner who is Italian. We moved less than a month ago after a year in Cyprus. He’s a chef so in a way I’ve been following him to different countries. I really like living in Italy, the food is amazing and there are so many beautiful places to visit.
I really like the Czech Republic, I visited 5 years ago during winter and it was stunning. There is a lot to discover over there. Stunning cathedral and museums. Even through the cold it felt like a very warm place to be.
I believe it is all about motivation, if you really want to go then you need to try until it works. This could be the experience of your life and change it completely!
Tyler
Position: Team Lead
Current Location: Spain
I am currently living in England but planning on moving back to Spain in the upcoming months. I spent my early twenties travelling and exploring Europe before settling in Spain where I fell in love with the country, culture and of course the amazing climate.
Athens! I am completely head over heels in love with Athens and Greece in general. It is such a lively country with great weather, great food and amazing history.
Research! My top tip is always research as much as you can about the country you want to move to and then take the leap! Moving abroad can be very scary but it is also one of the best decisions I ever made. You will meet people from all over the world and make friends and memories for life.
French, Italian & Global recruitment team
Philippine
Position: International Recruiter
Current Location: Italy
I moved to Italy 4 years ago to join my partner after 7 years of long distance relationships between Belgium and Italy. I love everything about Italy, the warm culture, the colorful cities, the landscapes, the food, etc. It’s a chaotic country in some way, but I wouldn’t go back to Belgium.
My favorite destination is Lisbon, because it’s a very joyful place, people are happy about living in Portugal, thanks to the enormous possibilities the country offers. I went a few times in Lisbon, and Faro and I just can’t wait to go back. To taste a good Pasteis de nata.
My top tip would be to go for it, don’t be scared about the unknown. Each country works differently, with its own culture. But this is what I love the most about working and living abroad, you get to immerse yourself in the culture of the others, and trust me you will grow from it a lot.
Aline
Position: Team Lead
Current Location: Slovenia
My partner is Slovene, so I decided to move to Slovenia in 2020. I am the happiest here. People are so nice and landscapes are breathtaking!
Athens in Greece. After discovering this capital last year, I can say that I really enjoyed the vibes there. It is full of life, pieces of history and good food!
Travelling for me is what’s best in life, it helps you grow and discover so many things about yourself and others. So my advice would be: Just go for it!

Stefanie
Position: Online Marketing
Current Location: Sweden
After many years of moving around the world, my husband and I have found our home in Sweden. It’s got such incredible natural beauty – from lush forests to sparkling lakes – it’s simply magical!
Barcelona is my favourite Working Adventures destination with it’s vibrant energy, stunning architecture, beautiful beaches, sunny weather, delicious food, and lively nightlife. Gaudi’s masterpieces and the Gothic Quarter capture my heart every time I visit.
Embrace cultural differences with an open mind. Show a willingness to adapt and respect local customs and traditions. It will help you connect with people, build new friendships, and make the most of your experience working abroad.
Shannon
Position: Graphic designer
Current Location: South Africa
I consider myself very lucky to be born and raised in Cape Town, a melting pot of cultures and diversity. There is a deep sense of connection, and the natural beauty never gets old. There is always something to do in this city, you really have to make an effort to be bored!
I would love to visit Lisbon one day. It is a beautiful city with so many interesting neighborhoods. I would love to see all the colorful azulejos (ceramic tiles) with my own eyes, and learn how to make them. I would also like to ride the tram to cafes and eat lots of authentic pasteis de nata!

Lydia
Position: Online Marketing
Current Location: Kenya
Hi there! I am Lydia and I am currently in Africa. After my studies in Psychology I didn’t know what I wanted to do, so I decided to travel through Africa solo. I fell in love with nature, the people, the culture, wildlife, everything!
Definitely Barcelona! One of my best friends lives there, so I have visited quite frequently. Honestly, Spanish culture is just amazing! The food, the dancing, the picturesque streets, the shopping areas, the sangria!!!
Even though it might seem scary, when you are actually doing it, you will see that it is way less scary than you initially thought. I 100% recommend you to take the step, you will learn so much from it and it’s honestly life changing in the best way possible!
Marie-Julie
Position: Online Marketing
Current Location: Spain
With an adventurous soul, I left Belgium for Portugal, kickstarting a 9-year journey through Lisbon, Amsterdam, and Ibiza. Embracing change, I found calm in the tranquil countryside of Ibiza’s North—surrounded by nature and hidden calas.
Falling in love with Portugal was inevitable. Lisbon’s blend of city life, history, art and nature stole my heart. Exploring the streets on Sunday mornings was pure bliss. Escaping the city? Just a short drive away you can relax at the beach, surf, or immerse in lush green mountains. Lisboa saudade!
Milan
Position: Online Marketing Manager
Current Location: Serbia
Hey there! I’m based in Serbia and unlike most of my colleagues, I’m rooted in my homeland. But let me tell you, I know how amazing and life-changing it can be to live abroad. I love traveling, playing sports and spending time in the nature with my kids.
That would be Thessaloniki, and Greece in overall. Even though I’ve visited it many times, I’m always thrilled to come back to Thessaloniki and its relaxed but vibrant lifestyle, rich history, and stunning beaches in the nearby areas. It’s an incredible place to live and work.
Since foreigners tend to form nice communities in each destination, it will be a lot easier for you to meet new people and get friends and memories for a lifetime. So, choose a country, apply for a job, and go change your life!

Hi! I’m Lene Bezuidenhout & I live in a beautiful country called South Africa! I was born in Cape Town and I have been living here for the greater part of my life. Priscilla
Position: Account Manager
Current Location: Italy
I lived in Spain for one of my internships back in 2019 and really loved it there. Ever since then I wanted to move to Spain after I finished school. I met my current partner right when I was about to so my time in Spain ended quicker than expected because I moved to Rome, Italy to move in together.
I have worked for Evolution in Madrid and I loved my time there. I could definitely recommend it!
I think the hardest part of it is making the actual decision if you go or not, once you do you will never look back and definitely not regret it!
