About the position
You answer questions from customers of an international company by phone, chat and email, in Finnish. Most of it is practical: someone can’t get into their account, a payment didn’t go through, a subscription needs changing, or a product isn’t doing what it should. Part of the work involves gaming accounts, so think password resets and access issues. Anything that needs a specialist you hand over, so nobody is left waiting. Before you take your first case on your own, you get 5 weeks of paid training.
About the company
The office is in Larnaca, and the team there covers the same client in a long list of languages, which means your colleagues come from all over Europe. Most of them moved here for this job too, so questions like where to open a bank account or which neighbourhood to live in get answered over lunch. Your team lead sits with the team rather than behind a closed door, and working from the office every day is what makes that contact easy from your first week.
Destination​​
Living in Larnaca, Cyprus
Larnaca is the third city of Cyprus and the one most people fly into, since the airport sits ten minutes from the centre. That makes weekend trips and flights back to Finland straightforward. The city itself is small enough to cross on foot or by bike, with a marina, a long stretch of sand along the front, and beach bars around Mackenzie that stay open into the evening.
What tends to surprise people from the north is the length of the year here. Winter days sit around 17 degrees, the sea stays warm enough to swim in until November, and daylight is something you still have plenty of in January. Around town there is the Kamares aqueduct, the Hala Sultan Tekke mosque on the edge of the salt lake, and the Zenobia, a shipwreck just off the coast that is one of the best dive sites in Europe. Nicosia and Limassol are both under an hour away by car, and the mountains are close enough for a day trip when you want a change of scenery.
What do you get?​
- A gross monthly salary of €1,350, which goes up to €1,400 after 6 months.
- A monthly performance bonus with no cap, based on your own KPIs, worth around €250 to €300 on top of your salary.
- Support with your move: either a relocation package paid out 2 to 3 weeks after you start, where you arrange your own flight and housing, or a flight reimbursement plus a place in company accommodation for your first two months.
- 5 weeks of paid training before you handle cases on your own.
- 40 hours a week in rotating shifts, Monday to Friday, within a 9:00 to 19:30 window.
- A 2-year contract, with the option of a permanent one after that.
What is required?
- Fluent Finnish, spoken and written.
- Good English, spoken and written.
- A high school diploma or higher.
- Experience in customer service, technical support or a call centre is welcome, but you can apply without it.
- You explain things clearly and you like working out what went wrong and fixing it.
- You are 18 years or older.
- You hold a valid EU passport or ID card. Work permits and visa sponsorship are not offered.
- You live in Larnaca already, or you are ready to move there.
- Minimum commitment: 6 months.
