Why our recruiters love this destination
Sofia totally surprised me! Starting with the rich Roman history of which you can still see traces in the present-day centre but also the iconic Alexander Nevsky Cathedral. I enjoyed all the beautiful architecture, but fortunately Sofia is not lost in the past and really has a contemporary character. For instance, we enjoyed strolling along Vitosha Boulevard, a lively centre with a variety of stores. In the evening, the rakia appears on the table and things get really lively in the trendy Oborishte neighbourhood.
But if you really want to discover the magic of Bulgaria, leave the city and head into the Vitosha Mountains for hiking.
Apparently you can even ski and snowboard there in the winter, so we’ll definitely come back for that! All in all, this trip did really put Bulgaria’s capital on the map for me. And that’s the great thing about travelling; get off the beaten path and choose a less popular destination, who knows, you might just discover something really unique!
