Lisbon, a dream come to life
Lisbon isn’t just a place to work, it’s a city that feels like a dream come to life. Picture this: sunny streets, colourful tiled buildings, and views of the sparkling Atlantic around every corner. With over 300 days of sunshine a year, it’s easy to see why people fall in love with Portugal’s capital.
Life here moves at the perfect pace. You can start your day with a fresh pastry and espresso at a local café, enjoy lunch by the river, and wind down with sunset views from one of the city’s famous miradouros (lookout points). Plus, Lisbon is surprisingly affordable compared to other European capitals.
Our favourite reasons to live in Lisbon
It's surf o'clock
Lisbon is located near the sea with some amazing beaches, which gives you the perfect opportunity to try to learn a new hobby: surfing! After you’ve practised the art of surfing, you can relax at one of the many beach clubs for some more seaside fun.
Explore the many local markets
Exploring the local markets in the city is an amazing experience. These markets offer local produce, artisanal goods, and unique Portuguese specialities, amongst which are cheeses, exquisite honey, and high-quality olive oil. Additionally, during the festive season of December, different neighbourhoods host a Christmas market!
Discover Lisbon's vibrant nightlife
Lisbon has loads of cafés, bars, and clubs for you to enjoy. Many of you have probably heard of the creamy pastry ‘Pastel de Nata’… Well, did you know that there is a Pastel de Nata shot? 🥃 An absolute game changer! Tip: try out ‘Sneaky Sip Lisbon’, this is a hidden cocktail bar that is only accessible through a secret door behind a photo automate. Don’t forget the password: BASEMENT.
Join Lisbon's expat community
Lisbon has the biggest expat community in the whole of Portugal! For this reason, it’s very easy to join an expat group, meet new friends and expand your network.
Pay a visit to Parque Urbano do Jamor
Lisbon has many parks available for you to explore new sports, from tennis courts to archery ranges. The greenest and biggest park is Parque Urbano do Jamor. This park has a canal in which you can kayak, and it also has a climbing wall for the daredevils among us!

Yes, a good level of English is required. You will talk with customers in both English and Spanish, plus English will come in handy in your day-to-day life.
Not at all, you’ll get full paid training to get you started!
No, this is not possible.
A high school diploma is officially required for this role. However, your application might still be considered if you can show that you’re a good fit in other ways. For example, if you have relevant work experience (like customer service, sales, or hospitality), strong communication skills, or a clear motivation to move abroad and commit to the job — these can all help make up for the missing diploma. In short: if you’re motivated and have experience that matches the role, it’s definitely still worth applying!
