Destination
Lisbon, the pearl of Portugal
Ah, Lisbon… Why live here? You ask? Well, besides the fact that pastel de nata is practically found on every corner of the street, Lisbon offers an irresistible blend of old-world charm and modern vibrancy. Picture this: you could be sipping vinho verde by the Tagus River, marvelling at centuries-old architecture, or simply getting lost in the maze of cobblestone alleys that seem to lead everywhere and nowhere at once. With its laid-back atmosphere, affordable cost of living, and an art for embracing life’s simple pleasures, Lisbon will be your new home sweet home.
Our favourite reasons to live in Lisbon
It's surf o'clock
Lisbon is located near the sea with some amazing beaches, which gives you the perfect opportunity to try to learn a new hobby: surfing! After you’ve practised the art of surfing, you can relax at one of the many beach clubs for some more seaside fun.
Explore the many local markets
Exploring the local markets in the city is an amazing experience. These markets offer local produce, artisanal goods, and unique Portuguese specialities, amongst which are cheeses, exquisite honey, and high-quality olive oil. Additionally, during the festive season of December, different neighbourhoods host a Christmas market!
Discover Lisbon's vibrant nightlife
Lisbon has loads of cafés, bars, and clubs for you to enjoy. Many of you have probably heard of the creamy pastry ‘Pastel de Nata’… Well, did you know that there is a Pastel de Nata shot? 🥃 An absolute game changer! Tip: try out ‘Sneaky Sip Lisbon’, this is a hidden cocktail bar that is only accessible through a secret door behind a photo automate. Don’t forget the password: BASEMENT.
Join Lisbon's expat community
Lisbon has the biggest expat community in the whole of Portugal! For this reason, it’s very easy to join an expat group, meet new friends and expand your network.
Pay a visit to Parque Urbano do Jamor
